Oklahoma Athlete Agent Bond

The Oklahoma Secretary of State requires all athlete agents to obtain an athlete agent bond in the amount of $50,000. This bond protects athletes from unethical agents who can take advantage of them by acting outside their contractual obligations or by not meeting their expectations. For example, if an agent misappropriated an athlete’s salary. In such cases, an athlete could then make a claim and be financially compensated through the surety company that issued the bond. The surety company would then seek repayment of the bond from the agent.
