Ohio Athlete Agent Bond

Before a person can be licensed as an athlete agent from the Ohio Athletic Commission, they must purchase and be approved for a $15,000 Ohio athlete agent bond. The bond protects athletes in case they are financially harmed by the agent that represents them. For example, if an agent misappropriated an athlete's salary for their own use, then the athlete is entitled to make a claim on the agent's bond. If the claim is valid, then the athlete would be compensated for the agent's mistake through the bond.
